Bio

Hugues Belanger is a seasoned, results-oriented Product and UX Design leader with over 25 years of experience who has led successful design projects for organizations of all sizes. Through consulting, Hugues gained exposure to a variety of industries like transportation, finance, insurance, AgTech, and healthcare. He thrives in startup as well as corporate environments where he brings bend for innovative solutions with his nimble and pragmatic approach.

Hugues combines a business-first mindset with a deep understanding of user needs, using Design Thinking and research-driven approaches. His down-to-earth, action-oriented style ensures continuous progress and tangible results. Being a huge advocate for collaboration and co-creation, he excels at aligning business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams, always focusing on impactful, user-centered solutions. He has a knack for identifying opportunities and connecting people from different disciplines to make things happen.

Key accomplishments include designing one of the earliest web-based applications for insurance adjusters, contributing to over $3 billion in annual revenue, and significantly increasing reservations on Enterprise.com from 100,000 to 7 million annually. Hugues has made somewhat of a specialty of reviving stagnant projects, turning them around through strong stakeholder collaboration and iterative, user-focused design strategies.

In his spare time, he enjoys the company of the family’s 2 energetic dogs, Jacques and Maurice. He is also an adept of the triathlon sports of swimming, cycling, and running (just not all at the same time!) with our favorite events being the Bike MS ride and the Snowball Series in the winter.
